Great Dorset Steam Fair - fire fire!
Great Dorset Steam Fair - fire fire!
Shand Mason steam fire engine built 1908 and used locally at St Giles and hauled by a pair of Percheron horses. It is seen entering the horse arena at full tilt in order to be able to put out a burning bale of straw before it extinguishes itself. I have seen many steam fire engines but this is the first time I recall seeing one being hauled at a gallop.
