NZ0712 : The River Greta

taken 11 years ago, near to Brignall, County Durham, England

The River Greta
The River Greta
Adjacent to Brignall old church ruins. Further upstream the river runs through a gorge and this was immortalised in a poem by Sir Walter Scott entitled Brignall Banks. This area was also painted by one of our greatest English landscape artists, J.M.W. Turner
