The buddleia does it again! It's worth while planting this easy to maintain plant and sitting back and awaiting the arrival of various-liveried butterflies who are drawn to the flower like moths to a flame. The Small tortoiseshell is common and gets its name from its brightly speckled wings which vary greatly in their black pattern from one to another. The eggs of this butterfly are generally laid on the underside of nettle leaves.
