Nottinghamshire's Andre Adams had already hit five violent sixes in a hugely entertaining 80, but attempting a sixth he was caught on the long-off boundary in front of the Pavilion by the Middlesex captain Chris Rogers (extreme right). The bowler was James Harris, the wicket keeper John Simpson and the non-striker the Notts captain, Chris Read. On Adams' dismissal, Nottinghamshire declared at 430 for 7.
