Sign at the entrance to the Higher Moors Trail
This wooden sculptured sign lies at the entrance to the nature trail from Porth Hellick bay to the road and beyond to Holy Vale. The inscription along the top reads "Grazing for Wildlife increases Biodiversity". This reflects the efforts of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust to enhance the habitat in many parts of the island through grazing by special breeds of cattle adapted to such habitats. This could be through cattle SV9012 : Conservation Grazing north of Carn Morval, Scilly or ponies SV9109 : Notice of Conservation Grazing on Peninnis Head.
