Central Library, Birmingham
Central Library, Birmingham
After fewer than 40 years of use the former Central Library is scheduled for demolition. What does this say about sustainability, or fashions in architecture?

Will this restless city soon become bored with the new Library of Birmingham? Given the city's penchant for constantly rebuilding its centre, perhaps 50 years, before it and the nearby Selfridge's 'blob architecture' store are regarded as hideous blots on the cityscape!
