SD2505 : Taylor's Bank

taken 11 years ago, 5 km SW of Freshfield, Sefton, England

Taylor's Bank
Taylor's Bank
Taylor's Bank, a sandbank near Formby Point. This area of the sandbank is only uncovered at the lowest of tides. Movement of sediment into and out of the Mersey Estuary gradually changes the shape of this and other local sandbanks which include Mad Wharf, Jordan's Bank, and the Great Burbo Bank. Mapping showing the relative positions of these sandbanks in 1862, 1880, 1920, 1946 and 2001 can be found here: LinkExternal link
