Pollokshaws West railway station, Glasgow, 2013
Opened in 1848 by the Glasgow, Barrhead and Neilston Direct Railway, later part of the Glasgow Barrhead & Kilmarnock Joint Railway (which was jointly owned by the Caledonian Railway and the Glasgow & South Western Railway). A plaque on the station says this is the oldest surviving station in Glasgow.
View south west towards Kennishead and Kilmarnock some 10 years before the railway line here was electrified. For a 2024 view from a similar camera position, see NS5561 : Pollokshaws West railway station, Glasgow.
