Rocks in River Greta
Rocks in River Greta
The rocks in the flow of the River Greta offer a possible crossing - one which wasn't made.
It's not apparent from the image but the slope rising beyond the river reaches the route of an old railway, the Stainmore Railway which to the west, left in the image, reached the greatest height of any in England. The track was lifted long ago.
