Beautifully constructed fence
This fence extends for miles across the moor. Its construction is different to other fences I have come across on Skye moorland. This fence has six strands of plain wire and a top strand of barbed wire supported on a mixture of thin and thicker wooden posts. Every strand of wire is stapled to every fence post. Close to the strainer (the large round post), plain wire replaces the barbed, meaning there is no risk of snagging ones trousers while climbing over the fence. Nice one!
