The mill-house (you can see the old millstone leaning on the wall) was the home of the writer Lytton Strachey and artist Dora Carrington between 1917 and 1924, and they are said to have received there other members of the Bloomsbury group, including Virginia Woolf and John Maynard Keynes.

The bridge carries a single track road leading to Sulham.
