The Teak Set Leaving Bo'ness
Locomotive 1744, a GNR N2 0-6-2T engine, viewed at the October Steam Gala of the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. Formerly used for commuter traffic at Kings Cross, this only remaining N2 has seen 90 years’ service, covering around 1.2 million miles. It belongs to the Great Central Railway, based at Loughborough. The 3 carriages were known as "The Teak Set". Although not all original coaches, the journey felt like a real return to the 1950s.
