Swiss Lake
Looking north-east across this large man-made lake, which helps to gravity-feed the water features and fountains in the Chatsworth garden some 350 feet below. On the right is Swiss Cottage, now a rather attractively located holiday cottage. The lake and cottage were named by the 6th Duke of Devonshire following his visit to Switzerland in 1839. Bunker's Hill Wood in the background.
