taken 12 years ago, near to Milton, Dumfries And Galloway, Scotland

Crannog on Milton Loch
Crannog on Milton Loch
The small trees show the site of a prehistoric Crannog, or artificial island, in Milton Loch. When the island was inhabited, the water level and condition of the shoreline probably were quite different from the present-day situation. This shot shows high water levels after a period of heavy autumn rain.
