Manchester School of Art - Chatham Building
The new extension to the Chatham Building, which houses the Faculty of Art and Design and the School of Architecture at the Manchester Metropolitan University, was designed by Fielden Clegg Bradley Studios LinkExternal link and was completed in April 2013. The work involved demolishing part of the original 1960s Chatham Building whilst retaining the tower (which can just be seen behind the new extension).

Compare this 21st century building with the original School of Art, the Grosvenor Building, which was built in 1880 and is just around the corner (SJ8497 : Manchester School of Art Grosvenor Building).
