Sunshine through autumn oak, Glen Roy
As an alternative to paddling the River Roy with ribs bruised from previous geological interaction, walking down the road was a delight in the sunny intervals with autumn colours all around. As it descends into woodland on its way from the settlement of Bohuntine down to Roy Bridge, the road is lined with birches and oaks glinting yellow in the low afternoon sun, with occasional glimpses of fiery rowan and beech and views to distant snow-covered hills, whilst the sun reflects off wet road surfaces and puddles.
