Danson Park
Danson Park is an urban park in the London Borough of Bexley; the council has owned it since 1925. It consists of 74 acres of the original 250 acre estate which was originally called Dansington. The rest of the estate was built on (including the A2 trunk road). The park now includes a lake, sports facilities, restaurant, formal gardens, woodland, open space, and, at its heart, Danson House, a Palladian mansion built in 1762-6 for Sir John Boyd. The park itself is a listed park (English Heritage ref. 1000211) and the listing gives a detailed history. The mansion and stables are separately listed.
