This is not a castle in the medieval defensive sense but it is Grade I listed. The building probably dates from the late 16th C. to early 17th C. It was remodelled around 1765 by Thomas Farnolls Pritchard of Shrewsbury, and in then again in 1913 by Walter Sarel. Currently mamaged by The National Trust with English Heritage Building ID: 149429.
