Seal extravaganza at Donna Nook
Seal extravaganza at Donna Nook
Perhaps never before have so many recumbent lumps of blubber attracted so much media attention. Every man and his camera stands to attention, waiting for something to move.
For much of the year the grey seals at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust's Donna Nook National Nature Reserve are at sea or hauled out on distant sandbanks.
But every November and December the seals give birth to their pups near the sand dunes: a wildlife spectacle which attracts visitors from across the UK.
