See NZ2464 : The Church of St. John the Baptist, Grainger Street, NE1. The font, which replaced its destroyed mediaeval predecessor, dates from the end of the 17th C. Pevsner describes the cover as "tall, bristling with canopies and pinnacles". He also says that it is 17th C, whereas the church leaflet says "c 1520".
