RAF Desborough Ident Letters
RAF Desborough Ident Letters
Recently uncovered station ident letters, these are in front of where the control tower used to stand.
There are 2 letters 40ft high that were the ident or pundit code for the former RAF station, in this case 'DS'; the pundit code was also transmitted in Morse by radio & light beacon at night allowing pilots to identify what airfield they were approaching at any time of day.
