Many of the trees in this area show signs that the prevailing wind is from the west, but in a lot of cases it has produced distortion where branches have been broken or parts have died back. This specimen, standing alone (though not far from another group of several close together) caught my eye as having formed a very attractive shape, despite it's significant lean away from the weather.
