Birnbeck Island and Pier
Birnbeck Island and Pier
The pier is almost derelict. It is closed to the public, only used by RNLI personnel for access to the lifeboat station (if you look carefully, you can see the red door of the lifeboat station on the island).
Birnbeck Pier
Birnbeck Pier at Weston-super-Mare was opened in 1867, with additional jetties constructed later to accommodate steam boats. It connects the mainland to a small 1.2 hectare island.

The Grade II* listed LinkExternal link pier has been closed to the public since 1994 and is now on the Buildings at Risk Register.
