Flooding and submerged car at Teston Bridge on Christmas Day
Flooding and submerged car at Teston Bridge on Christmas Day
The River Medway has burst its banks and so the river which is normally about 50 feet wide at the medieval Teston Bridge, seen beyond the road signs, is now more like a quarter of a mile wide. A car has been swept downriver and can be seen almost submerged half way across. It has only been halted after hitting the road sign giving priority for vehicles heading in this direction over the narrow bridge. For a view of the full extent of the flooding here see Link The usual width of the river at Teston Bridge can be seen at Link Needless to say the road had been closed.
