Jan 2014: flooding at White Mill (1)
Due to a combination of sustained and heavy rainfall over the Christmas holiday period, coupled with exceptionally high tides, the River Stour has burst its banks from Sturminster Marshall to the mouth of Christchurch Harbour. The millstream which normally flows from a brick built twin arched outlet below the centre of the building has been totally obscured by the flood waters. In more settled weather the scene looks like this: ST9500 : White Mill.
