SD4060 : High tide at Half Moon Bay

taken 5 years ago, near to Heysham, Lancashire, Great Britain

High tide at Half Moon Bay
High tide at Half Moon Bay
Looking into the bay along the north wall of Heysham Harbour. It's a high spring tide with a westerly wind, so waves are washing over the wall and flooding the heliport area. The heliport was created to serve the Morecambe Bay gas-field, but was hardly ever used. It now provides a roost site for wading birds.
