St. Albans: the cathedral and abbey church of St. Alban
St. Albans: the cathedral and abbey church of St. Alban
A long official title for a long cathedral - it has the second longest nave of any English cathedral. Its layout is essentially unchanged from the mid-11th century and, indeed, the tower and some of the nave arches date from that time. More information can be found at (for example) LinkExternal link on the various important junctures between then and the present day.
