St Swithin's spire
St Swithin's spire
The landmark church on the London Road as it comes into Bath has a fine spire. St Swithin's expanded in 1787: leading architect John Palmer drew up plans to enlarge the building eastwards by two extra bays, with the spire finally arriving in 1790. See ST7565 : St Swithin's church for a wider view of Bath's only eighteenth century church still existing.

See ST7565 : St Swithin's spire from The Paragon for an opposite view.
