A diverse and historically significant local green space, Eastcliff is a large informal park on the steep slopes inland from Eastcliff Walk atop the east-facing cliffs backing the sea wall and the railway line. It includes part of the former gardens of two large seaside Regency villas: Cliffden, and The Rowdens. The park consists of three distinct areas, The Rowdens, parkland with majestic but overmature specimen trees, rhododendrons and a circular walled garden; the Dell, a sub-tropical valley garden descending the hillside; and Mules Park, flowery, hedge-flanked meadows donated by the Mules family for the benefit of the people of Teignmouth. The main use is for quiet recreation, relaxation and dog-walking. There are no formal sports facilities.

Following an unsuccessful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore the park, Teignbridge District Council commissioned Nicholas Pearson Associates to provide a more detailed historical survey. It was published in 2006 and from it flowed a masterplan and a five-year action plan up to 2014. At the time of writing (2014) it is not known whether a further bid was made for HLF funding. Publications and on-site signs make no mention of it.

The Friends of Eastcliff are a group of local residents from across Teignmouth who are working with Teignbridge District Council to plan for the future of the Park and to help restore parts of it, including the Dell and the Walled Garden.

A number of (undated) publications about the park can be downloaded from the Teignbridge website LinkExternal link including an informative leaflet: LinkExternal link
