Travelling into Manchester on the A56, crossing the River Medlock on the Bridgewater Viaduct SJ8397 : Bridgewater Viaduct from Chester Road to Deansgate, the original landmark was Castlefield Congregational Church SJ8397 : Castlefield Congregational Church. Now it is overshadowed by the Beetham Tower LinkExternal link

In the foreground left is a footbridge over the Medlock. Either side of the two landmarks are arches of the Castlefield Viaduct which carry to railway line west from Deansgate.
