Monington Parish Church
Monington Parish Church
Monington gets its name (presumably by tranfer in the 14th century by their common landowners, the d'Audleys) from Monington in the Wye Valley, losing an N on the way. The Welsh name, Eglwys Wythwr, is derived from a much earlier owner: Gwythur = latin Victor.
