Chinese Lanterns, Old College Quad
To coincide with the Chinese New Year, the University and the Confucius Institute for Scotland exhibited these lanterns which were lit over ten evenings from 4pm to 9pm. Originally commissioned for the Beijing Olympics of 2008, they were inspired by the 3rd century B.C. terracotta warrior figures from the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang found at Xian in 1974.
