Anglian Cross Shaft, Bakewell Church
Grade 1 listed structure dating from early C10. Of gritstone, its tapered rectangular shaft is approximately 1.5m in height. Carved with interlace and ring motifs. Relocated here either from Birley Fields Farm, Two Dales; (near Matlock), or from Gladwin's Mark, 5km east of Beeley. It is also classed as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
