NZ1785 : Ruins of Mitford Castle

Murray's Handbook (1890) has it first built between 1150-70 by William Bertram, but sacked by the Scots in 1323 and never rebuilt. The internet gives varying dates but along similar lines, see http://www.northofthetyne.co.uk/Mitford.html .
