SW7442 : Disused Mine Shaft

taken 7 years ago, near to Twelveheads, Cornwall, Great Britain

Disused Mine Shaft
Disused Mine Shaft
A poor picture, with the flare on the lens, but included because it shows not only the double protection of wall and fence erected around some shafts, but also the crumbly nature of the surface, which is all mining spoil. To get near the shaft which could be some 300 metres deep could so easily be fatal as the surface would be prone to crumbling away pitching one downwards.
