NZ8809 : Solitary Greylag at Ruswarp Weir
It's Graham Greylag! How lovely to see a photo of our very dear friend. We're Lincolnshire Yellowbellies but have a holiday home at Glen Esk, Ruswarp. Graham is a daily visitor when we're there, waking us up most mornings at about half past five to demand breakfast. We still haven't worked out how he knows we're there, and can only assume he recognises the Renault! Graham has been around on The Esk for a few years now, and has a role he takes very seriously as guardian and chief protector of the ducklings. He is completely without fear, although we did have to wade into the Esk to rescue him once from a very irked swan. Fortunately, he's quite resilient. Lovely photo; made us smile on a miserable January day...
