SO3384 : Shropshire pond at Lower Down
taken 9 years ago, near to Lower Down, Shropshire, Great Britain

Shropshire pond at Lower Down
This hamlet has two farms and ten cottages, is the site of a castle mound and a mediaeval farmstead. The 16th century Lower Down Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building, being listed on 2nd June 1985. Nearby on Sunnyhill is Bury Ditches Iron Age hillfort with a car park and described walks. Lower Down seems to be a quiet, little-visited spot where probably the scene has not changed very much for many years. Time taken 5.21 pm BST (British Summer Time).
