National Trust is constructing a hydro-electric scheme, with a fish ladder (salmon to be introduced to the River Bollin, it is said). The turbine will produce approx 50% of the electricity needed at Quarry Bank Mill.It is a Kaplan turbine, producing 50KW of power.
