Tyre jump on the gallops near Kingsclere, Hampshire

The lichen, algae and moss on the tyres show the age of this jump. In the background are the grass-covered chalk slopes of White Hill, dating from the Cretaceous period. Presumably the grass was absent when the hill was named.
