The Palace of Westminster is the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, and is commonly known as the Houses of Parliament after its tenants. The Palace lies on the Middlesex bank of the River Thames in the City of Westminster, in central London. The palace has three towers, The Victoria Tower on the left, the Central Tower, which resembles an octagonal shaped church spire and at the far end the Elizabeth Tower which holds the famous clock and peal of 5 bells, the largest being named Big Ben.
