There is, at the date of submission, no decision on the application for planning permission to demolish the properties and replace them with housing association apartments. Correspondence available on the Planning Service website discloses the following: “the safe demolition of the buildings is the most appropriate course of action due to the precarious condition of the existing structure”. University Street is on the right.
A terrace of three houses, originally known as Liscard Terrace, at the corner of the Ormeau Road and University Street, built before 1877. Now derelict they had a long spell in use as a doctors’ surgery. They are (September 2013) the subject of the following application for planning permission “Z/2013/0002/F 137-141 Ormeau Road Belfast BT7 1SH Demolition of existing buildings and erection of 11 two-bedroom and 4 one-bedroom apartments, car parking and associated site works”. The photographs submitted my me appear as a matter of geographical and historical record only and do not express any opinion, for or against, the application.
