Sir John Barleycorn pub, Cadnam
This 12th century pub is thought to be the oldest pub in the New Forest. The building was originally three separate cottages, but is now a traditional thatched pub and restaurant. In English folklore, John Barleycorn is a character who represents the crop of barley harvested each autumn, and also symbolizes the drinks which can be made from barley, namely beer and whiskey.
