Raindale Mill from above
The mill was brought to York in the 1960s from the North York Moors where it served Newton-upon-Rawcliffe and the surrounding villages. In this view from the third floor of the Travelodge can also be seen the operational millpond, which in its new location is filled with water pumped up from the River Foss.
