From Yorkshire hills to Derbyshire hills
From Yorkshire hills to Derbyshire hills
The Sheffield artist Stanley Royle painted his 'From Yorkshire hills to Derbyshire hills' from this location in 1919. You can view Royle's painting on the BBC's Your Paintings web pages. For some reason the BBC both fail to give the correct title of the painting and give the location as Derbyshire when most of the painting shows the Burbage Brook, Burbage Valley, Burbage Rocks and Carl Wark, all now in Yorkshire. Derbyshire is visible only in the distance. LinkExternal link For another photograph linked to an artist's depiction of Sheffield and the surrounding area see SK2481 : Mitchell Field Farm
