SJ8398 : Gas Board Offices (Arlington House)
taken 12 years ago, near to Manchester, England

Gas Board Offices (Arlington House)
The former Corporation Gas Works Office building at the northern end of Bloom Street is Grade II listed (English Heritage ID:471510 Link
British Listed Buildings). The elaborate building is described by Salford Council as “a hidden architectural gem” Link
. It is certainly eye-catching with its startling brick and stone design, steep Welsh slate roof and central tower. Built in 1880, it is probably the work of architect Thomas Worthington who also designed SJ8498 : Crown Court, Minshull Street, Manchester and SJ8596 : Nicholl's House (note the similarities in the towers).
Today the refurbished building belongs to Kenworthy's Legal Chambers and it is called Arlington House.
