taken 11 years ago, near to Pilsley, Derbyshire, England

An ash house
An ash house
Used for the storage of Potash, used in the making of glass.
Bracken and glassweed(?) was burnt and the resultant potash pressed into blocks and stored here.
This building is featured in a book by Frank Rodgers, called "More Curiosities Of Derbyshire".
Thanks to Tony Bacon for the above information.
Unfortunately the corbelled roof has fallen in.
