Depicting St Agnes.
In memory of Elenora Hughes, 1903 by William Aikman who once worked for J. Powell & sons. In 1913 he established his own studio in Camden Square and moved to Sutton, Surrey in 1934. A nice example of Art Noveau
St Margaret of Antioch church, Margaretting

12th C. or earlier, possibly on a Roman building. The church is distant from the actual village, because it was attached to the Manor House or Hall at the time.
South aisle and extensions in early 15th C. with addition of tower and porches. The tower is weather boarded and timber-framed with a shingled broach spire. It contains some fine old bells, with one dating from 1392-1419, probably the oldest in Essex.
The church was restored and altered in 1870.
There is a carved reredos and some 15th C. stained glass.A new oak doorway with panels into the Vestry (in the tower)and a pine staircase to the organ loft were added in the early 1990's.
