H1285 : Croagh Bridge
taken 7 years ago, near to Meenasrona, Donegal, Ireland

Croagh Bridge
Croagh Bridge, over the Mournebeg River, links the Corgary area of west County Tyrone with the Tievecloghoge area of Donegal. During the Troubles, this border crossing was closed by the British Army to hinder the movement of subversives, much to the annoyance of local people, many of whom had family, friends or land on both sides of the NI/ROI border. This crossing, like most others was reopened shortly after the Provisional I.R.A. ceasefire of 1994 and it would seem that the bridge has been (at least partially) rebuilt. This photograph was taken on the Donegal side.
