Kilmartin Parish Church and War Memorial Arch
Kilmartin Parish Church and War Memorial Arch
The Kilmartin First World War Memorial takes the form of an archway constructed of grey granite blocks with the keystone crowned by a small cross built over the existing gateway into the kirk.
There are 18 men listed on the archway. The commemoration on the keystone reads:
THEY DIED
THAT WE
MIGHT
LIVE
1914 1919

Kilmartin Parish Church is a congregation of the Church of Scotland. The present church was built in 1835 and is a fairly standard church of the era. Its graveyard shows that today's church is only the latest in a series built on the site.
