TQ3278 : Ethel Street, Walworth

taken 11 years ago, near to Bermondsey, Southwark, England

Ethel Street, Walworth
Ethel Street, Walworth
This short residential cul-de-sac has a strange outlook. In the centre is the rear of flats in Wansey Street, Garland Court. To their left, shrouded in plastic sheeting, is a building on the corner of Wansey Street and Walworth Road, apparently Walworth One-stop shop, presumably a branch of Southwark Council. It's not known whether it is being cleaned, demolished, or whether it is being protected from the demolition of the Heygate estate to the north. Another oddity is the sculpted, painted and dressed head swinging from a tree.
